Kylie Jenner has said that her whereabouts often remain a mystery to her parents.
However, the 17-year-old's mother Kris Jenner made a rare departure from routine and demanded a tete-a-tete with her youngest child.
'It's been two weeks since Kylie and I have had a real conversation. And it's heartbreaking to me,' the 59-year-old explained in a new trailer for an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The Kardashian matriarch confronted the teen in her kitchen as she fussed over her Italian greyhound puppy Norman alongside her 30-year-old daughter Khloe - who did little to help the situation.
With an upcoming jaunt to see her 81-year-old mother Mary Jo Campbell in San Diego, the former talk show host explained that it was an ideal opportunity to spend time with her child.
'I want to take her someplace close, so we can have a little road trip because it eliminates all the distractions so that we can get back to normal,' she said in a confessional interview.
Speaking to Kylie, she shared her intentions: 'I'm going down to MJ's to spend one night and I think that you should come with me so that we can spend a little time together and have a little bonding moment.'
But her request was met with a stony reception from the teen, who continued doting on the pooch and viewed a mobile phone with her sister.
Still, she pressed for her daughter's attention. 'Kylie, I need you to come and be with me,' she said sternly. 'We can talk about all of the things that you never have time to talk to me about.'
Finally acknowledging her mother - who stood at a distance clad in a black fur coat - she responded: 'Mom, that two-hour drive doesn't get me excited. I'll think about it.'
'I'm your mom and I'm telling you now that I want you to go with me to San Diego and you don't have a choice,' Kris fired back as dramatic music reached a crescendo over the scene. 'So pack your bags and we're going to leave tomorrow. Be ready at 10.'
The authoritative tone was likely a surprise to Kylie, who has already purchased her own $2.7 million Calabasas home ahead of her 18th birthday on August 10, and lives an independent life by her own admission.
‘My family always jokes that I’m always off doing my own thing and they never know where I am,’ the teen explained to Remix magazine last month.
'I'm about to turn 18, so I'm starting to do more of my own stuff, like acting and other stuff I'm interested in. Kendall hangs out with my family a lot, I hang out with my friends a lot.'
