The incident was said to have allegedly occurred in the presence of some police men who watched as the thugs plotted to snatch the ballot boxes. But due to the proactive measures taken by the men of the Nigerian army, the thugs were apprehended before they could carry out theirplans.
Incidences of ballot box snatching has been reported in different parts of the country during the April 11 gubernatorial and state house of assembly election.
In Delta state, three gunmen today reportedly stormed a voting unit at Ebedeni Ward 6, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the state and snatched ballot papers and boxes.
also In Imo stat, at least three persons were killed and scores injured in a ghastly motor accident when a take-off bus conveying hoodlums who snatched ballot boxes in the area, somersaulted while trying to escape from Soldiers who gave them a hot chase.
